As an additional resource for the local biotech community, I have assembled an up-to-date list of venture capital and angel funding organizations that are either Seattle (or Northwest) based, or actively seek to fund biotech and medtech companies in our region. Some of these groups directly fund companies; some act as financial advisors. I have tried where possible to list some of the local companies that are associated with these firms. One should keep in mind that venture companies located in the Northwest may fund most of their efforts in other areas of the country. By the same token, venture capital firms in other parts of the country (or for that matter, the world) can provide funding to companies that are established here. At the bottom is a listing of other local resources that entrepreneurs may be able to tie into for help in getting a new company launched. Please let me know of any needed changes or corrections. A more comprehensive list of venture firms in the Northwest, including those that don't invest in biotech/medtech, can be found on the Northwest Innovation website.
